Christopher Lau

 His arbitration practice encompasses investment as well as all aspects of commercial disputes including maritime, energy, construction, corporate, military & defence procurements involving the laws of diverse jurisdictions including those of Singapore, Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Korea, Thailand, China, Denmark, England & Wales and New York.
Christopher has been in practice for over 30 years, having been called to the Bar of England & Wales in 1972. After his return to Singapore in 1975, Christopher soon became best known for his role in shipping, construction and commercial disputes. He was appointed a Judicial Commissioner of the Singapore Supreme Court in 1995. On stepping down from the Bench in 1998, Christopher Lau has served as an arbitrator in major international cases conducted under ICC, HKIAC, KLRCA, LCIA, SCMA, SIAC and UNCITRAL arbitration rules in many countries worldwide.
Christopher is an Alternate Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration, Member of the Task Force on IBA Guidelines on Party Representation in International Arbitration, member of the Working Group IBA Rules on Investor-State Mediation and member of the Board of Advisors New York International Arbitration Center.
