Aim of the programme:
This internationally recognized course will give candidates an understanding of the principles, practices and procedure of Arbitration in view of the Arbitration & Conciliation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015 which is based on, and incorporates the best practices in International Commercial Arbitration.

About Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration, India:
The Mumbai Centre For International Arbitration (MCIA) is a first of its kind independent, international arbitral institution that was set up in 2016. The MCIA is the result of joint initiative between the domestic and international legal community and the Government of Maharashtra. The MCIA aims to bring international best practices to arbitration in India.
About the Course:
The course on arbitration and subsequent examination is gateway for such membership after which one becomes eligible for next level membership up to Fellowship. It is being conducted for the first time in Mumbai after successful completion in Delhi & Chennai for the past several years. Course material prepared by CIArb, UK will be provided to the candidates on registration for the course.
The candidates who successfully complete this programme will be eligible to apply for Associate-level members of CIArb, UK and payment of subscription charges. Once the candidate becomes Associate member of the Institute can use suffix ‘ACIArb’ after his/her name. This accreditation of ACIArb is an introduction in itself in the International Arbitration community.
How the course will be delivered:
Over 2 days at the MCIA, Express Towers, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 by CIArb approved tutors.
Who can attend?
Lawyers, Arbitrators, Technical Experts, Architects, Engineers, CAs, CSs, In-house Counsels, Brokers, Insurers, Academicians, Financial Intermediaries, and other professionals.
The assessment will be required to be completed by the candidates who will be given log in and password details byCIArb London. The online assessment will be conducted by CIArb London. The course feeincludes 95 pounds on line assessment fees payable by each candidate to CIArb London.
Highlights of online assessment:
- This assessment comprising 60 multiple choice questions.
- The candidates will be given log in and password details.
- Once candidates log in instructions as to how to work through the assessment will be given.
- There may be a short practice test for the candidates to experiment withbefore the candidate start assessment.
- Once the candidate log into the assessment, the access will be open for 28Days.
- The candidates will have up to 3 attempts to take and pass the assessment.
- The result will be displayed immediately on completion of assessment.
- The pass mark is 55%.
- On passing the Assessment, the candidate will be invited to print theirown certificate.
- The candidate will then have the opportunity to apply for ACIArb (Associate Grade) Membership and to consider proceeding for higher level of training leading to Member (MCIArb) and Fellow(FCIArb) grade membership.

Note: You will be required to submit proof of Young MCIA membership to avail Young MCIA member discount.
The fee includes registration fee for the course, the first attempt at the assessment, study materials, lunch and refreshments on all days.
