What does the Tribunal Secretary Training Program entail?
The Tribunal Secretary Training Program, 2023 is a first of its kind training program being organized in India. The two-day program will include –

World Class Faculty: Lectures and seminars from both, international and domestic faculties, experienced in the field of international arbitration. The trainers have experience of being a Tribunal Secretary in the past or working with them and they now act as arbitrators in complex international arbitration matters.

Extensive Course: Two lectures and five seminars from experienced faculty comprising of practical workshops on drafting of procedural orders and arbitral awards, preparation of documents for the Tribunal during an arbitration proceeding, discussions on the role and legal obligations of a Tribunal Secretary.

One on one interaction: A chance to get a one on one interaction with the Faculty and possible opportunity to act as their Tribunal Secretary in high-stake arbitrations.

Limited class size: With a limited class size, you will get an opportunity to engage in detailed discussions and receive constructive feedback from the Faculty.

Upon qualifying the Tribunal Secretary Training Program, your name will be included in the MCIA certified roster of tribunal secretaries and the same shall be published on the MCIA website.

This course will act as the stepping stone for tribunal secretaries to act as an arbitrator in international arbitrations.

Get an opportunity to be a part of the entire arbitration process, i.e., from initiation of the arbitration to rendering of the final award.

Work closely with the arbitrator during the arbitration proceeding. This will provide you with an opportunity to analyse an arbitration matter from the arbitrator’s perspective instead of analysing it from a practitioner’s perspective.

The Program shall act as a good investment to build into the field of international arbitration. The Tribunal Secretaries are generally entitled to a fee on an hourly basis, as is followed by other arbitral institutions such as the LCIA and HKIAC.
